So the Groundhog did not see his shadow today, which means winter will end soon? It was an exciting week for all of us as Jeff was snowbound to work at home (he would have been snowbound in Dallas if he hadn't cancelled a work trip on Monday evening). We had fun shoveling and making cookies and walking around with the sled. Douwe still could take it or leave it when it comes to the snowy outdoors, but he did have some moments of fun before snow started creeping up onto his wrists.
We own a hand shovel, but our neighbor blowed out our front sidewalks before we could exert ourselves. . .our driveway is an alley and we weren't sure about that but sure enough by the third evening, we got dozed clear by a city plow. . it was a wonderful week of hibernation and a few days off of errands and school and all the other things that usually happen in a routine week.
