Rhonda's wedding

The best weather ever for an outdoor ceremony at Taltree Arboretum, beautiful flowers, and a glowing bride . . this was a special wedding to attend and be a part of. Rhonda and Matt made their vows and celebrated this day with many friends and family. A great time was had by all!

Pool Party

Today several girlfriends from high school had the pleasure of enjoying a pool party and pizza lunch, thanks to our host, Carli. Rhonda is in from Pittsburgh for her wedding in two days, and Patti and Sara are in from their homes in Europe to visit family and friends. We had an enjoyable afternoon.

Another great week in Holland with the Lantings! For the third year, we have rented a cottage in Macatawa near the marina and the big lake. Our biggest decision each day is whether to lounge at the marina pool, on the beach, or on the sailboat. An added cottage luxury this year was the golf cart, which was highly utilized to get up and down the steep dune road to our cottage.

Blown across the Lake

From July 4th -7th, Jeff joined Jim, Seth and Dave Lanting on their annual lake-crossing cruise. The first leg of the sail was Holland to Milwaukee, where we met up with Mike for dinner explored the Brady Street scene, all within walking distance from the marina. We sailed from Milwaukee to Racine, where we harbored on Friday night, then back east to Holland on Saturday.

Welcome Back, Steve

We were very surprised to get a call this morning to see if we were willing to host Steve again. After seven months of not seeing or talking to him, it was quite a surreal feeling to see him walk in the door, explore the house and declare with approval, "Yep, just as I left it."

The pace of my daily life has changed dramatically, as I try to keep up with a seven-year old again, but it does already feel like normal again. He has grown in stature, emotional maturity and persuasive speaking since his first arrival, and he is just as excited as we are to meet Baby Groen in a couple of months.
