We were outside pretty much all day, with a picnic in the afternoon and a dip in the pool before supper. Douwe loves being in the water, wants to challenge himself by trying to reach down for toys, dip his face in and scare himself a little for fun. He wants to just swim, but knows that it might be a bit too risky to go for it yet.

I like the new style on the blog here! I hope you had a great time celebrating your birthday -- sorry I couldn't wish you happy birthday in person. Douwe and I had a great time together. He demonstrated his love for the water when we were watching springboard diving on the Olympics -- he wouldn't stop pointing and laughing! And, once again, thanks for letting me get to cuddle a sleeping baby!
